Μετά από 20 έτη της αισθητικά χειρότερης έκδοσής της όλων των εποχών, η πλατεία γυρίζει στο καλύτερο παλιό. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Omonia is the 2nd most popular square in Athens Center. It has changed style many times. The totally modern version of 2000-2020 without the famous fountain of the 1960's, a result of the works for the metro station, was characterized widely as the worst of all times. During these years the square turned from the most popular and crowded in the country to a center of third-world decline, that Greeks and visitors avoided. This article claims that the same the style of the version 2000-2020 was responsible enough for this, by "not inspiring respect to no one". It also welcomes the return of a fountain close to the one of the 1960's version, which fitted to the buildings of all times around.
Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Around 1900 when the first 2 seaside - southern suburbs of Athens, Neo Faliro and Paleo Faliro, were fully developed, the areas from Alimos to Voula were still uncreated with various deserted, agricultural or forest parts. Article for the first important buildings in this zone and especially for the city of Glyfada. Glyfada was the first area in this zone that within 10 years since 1920 managed to be seriously organized as a suburb, have many mansions of important architecture, acquire quality sea baths facilities and become popular to the Athenians. Until 1920 all the area of Glyfada belonged to one man who decided to create a new suburb and cooperated with a team of rich professionals and construction companies. Many of the first buildings still exist (many Greek interwar simple mansions close to Hellinikon and 5 rare interwar new-medieval bigger mansions).
Ένα κτίριο πανελληνίως σπάνιου ρυθμού, που θα περίμενες να το δεις στο Παρίσι! Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): 1921 hotel building in Karditsa, Thessaly. Rare for Greece rococo rhythm, total unexpected to exist in a city of Thessaly prefecture. Unknown French architect. From 1923 until ~ 1940 it's central entertainment room (cafe, ballroom) hosted hundreds of shows (cinema, theater and many other) and it became the main social and entertainment center of the city and wider. Many Greek famous actors, artists e.t.c. passed from it's small scene. Many prime ministers, until today, stayed in "Arni". A very strong earthquake destroyed the dome in 1954. The name "Arni" comes from an ancient city nearby, and it was given by the first owner Tertipis (politician), in order to honer his brother, that won the Turks there. Renovated in 2005, is a very special luxury hotel today, named "Domotel Arni Historic Hotel".

Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Around 1900, the sea side zone of Helliniko, near the old airport and the wider coast zone between Alimos and Glyfada were secluded with orchards and only few and mostly wooden single floor houses. After 1920 a few special private residences were constructed there. In this article we present 2 rare -style, unique for Greece, neighbor villas of ~ 1925 - 1935, in Helliniko. The first (white) was demolished in 2012. The second one was demolished just in 2015, with a strange change in 2014, of the low of 2013 that protected it with delay. With these destructions and with new block of flats that started to appear after the airport was moved to Spata, this area is loosing it's original style, with the same bad ways as happened at the rest suburbs of Athens after 1960. The fact of the demolition caused the disgust of many citizens of Athens that consider unacceptable such things nowadays.
Μια σημαντική ανακάλυψη, που αξίζει να γίνει γνωστή. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Neo Phalero near Pireus was the 1st developed coast suburb of Athens, with many special buildings.
