Μετά από 20 έτη της αισθητικά χειρότερης έκδοσής της όλων των εποχών, η πλατεία γυρίζει στο καλύτερο παλιό. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Omonia is the 2nd most popular square in Athens Center. It has changed style many times. The totally modern version of 2000-2020 without the famous fountain of the 1960's, a result of the works for the metro station, was characterized widely as the worst of all times. During these years the square turned from the most popular and crowded in the country to a center of third-world decline, that Greeks and visitors avoided.  This article claims that the same the style of the version 2000-2020 was responsible enough for this, by "not inspiring respect to no one".  It also welcomes the return of a fountain close to the one of the 1960's version, which fitted to the buildings of all times around.
