Although many of them, in opposition with other greek cities, are still one step before destruction, with responsibility of the local authorities of the last 3 decades. In this article we present a house in Kastella. Although it has been totally reconstructed, the result is unexpectedly impressive and remarkable (for such cases in Greece).

2015 όχι 1960! Ασύλληπτη & περίεργη, αν όχι απλά παρανοϊκή, η κατεδάφιση της σπάνιας μεσοπολεμικής έπαυλης στην παραλιακή προμετωπίδα του Ελληνικού. Είχε προηγηθεί η κατεδάφιση και άλλου γειτονικού σπάνιου κτιρίου!

Παρουσίαση της κατεδάφισης 2 σπανιότατων κτιρίων στην παράκτια ζώνη του Ελληνικού. Δείτε πως καταστρέφεται βήμα - βήμα μια περιοχή, που διατηρούνταν έως το 2010, όπως ελάχιστες αντίστοιχες στην Αττική. Δυστυχώς, παρά τα όσα συνέβησαν μετά το 1960, υπάρχει ακόμα μια μειοψηφία ιδιοκτήτες, φορείς, επιστήμονες ακόμα και πολίτες, που με ίδιες πρακτικές και νοοτροπίες συνεχίζουν να καταστρέφουν, προκλητικά πλέον για την πλειοψηφία, οτι έχει απομείνει. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Around 1900, the sea side zone of Helliniko, near the old airport and the wider coast zone between Alimos and Glyfada were secluded with orchards and only few and mostly wooden single floor houses.  After 1920 a few special private residences were constructed there. In this article we present 2 rare -style, unique for Greece, neighbor villas of ~ 1925 - 1935, in Helliniko. The first (white) was demolished in 2012. The second one was demolished just in 2015, with a strange change in 2014, of the low of 2013 that protected it with delay. With these destructions and with new block of flats that started to appear after the airport was moved to Spata, this area is loosing it's original style, with the same bad ways as happened at the rest suburbs of Athens after 1960. The fact of the demolition caused the disgust of many citizens of Athens that consider unacceptable such things nowadays.

Αμφίπολη: Η ευρωπαϊκής τάσης νεοκλασσική οικία Ζησίδη - νυν δημαρχείο στο Ροδολίβος

Ένα σπάνιο κτίριο στην Αμφίπολη, που αξίζει να παρουσιάσουμε, έχοντας επιλέξει να προβάλλουμε πιο ψαγμένα πράγματα από αυτά που κυκλοφορούν παντού, μετά την μεγάλη αρχαιολογική ανακάλυψη. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Recently a great rare style ancient Macedonian tomb (Greek not Yugoslavian of course), was founded in Amfipolis. According to our main object here and to the fact that every single area in Greece has more than one sights we present this central European and Greek neoclassical style building in the town Rodolivos, near Amfipolis. Built ~1920-1925, before the crisis of 1930, when the area had a high growth period because of the tobacco, as residence of Constantine Zisides, a tobacco merchant. Architect: The Austrian Konrad Jacob Josef von Vilas, whose a similar villa and a huge tobacco warehouse, also still exist in the city of Drama. The type of the building and especially it's roof materials are very rare all over Greece. Today, it is excellent preserved and houses the municipality of Amfipolis.

Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Building of  ~1908 that still exists in Liberty square, Thessaloniki. Built and used from an Jewish - Austrian company named "Stein's Oriental Stores Limited", that offered high quality central European products in the former cosmopolitan cities of the Eastern Mediterranean sea. It was remarkably modern for it's era and area and one of the few that survived the big fire of 1917. Despite this the newer Greeks destroyed the original design of the building and from the great old copula - roof, only the higher part with the rare green glass globe still exists. The article also contains all the information found for the Stein's Company and the other first European department stores  in the eastern Mediterranean and exclusive analysis for the decorative use of globes on old buildings worldwide.

Η καταγεγραμμένη απίστευτη ιστορία του αρχιτεκτονικά και ιστορικά σημαντικού κτιρίου και το χρονικό της απαράδεκτης κατεδάφισής του. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Rare building of 1924 that combined elements of 3 rhythms (the older westεrn type at the roof, the eclectic and the most modern - simple of it' s age 1924, at the rest). Especially after the Athens earthquake of 1999 it had serious problems and the ministry of culture protected it as monument. Finally at 2002 it was demolished, after a wired personal intervention of minister Venizelos (and propably an objection of owners that wanted to get rid of it).

Πειραιάς: H Γούβα Βάβουλα και τo μοναδικό κτίριο του Κηρομύτη (3ο δημοτικό σχολείο), με τα "ευρωπαϊκού" τύπου αετώματα και τις σπάνιες πήλινες γιρλάντες

Ένα από τα πιο ιδιόμορφα κτίρια του Πειραιά, στο οποίο σώζονται πλήρως οι σπάνιες πλέον κεραμικές γιρλάντες των αετωμάτων και η ενδιαφέρουσα ιστορία του. Useful Information for English speaking Visitors (more pictures inside): Building at the neighborhood "Pit of Vavoulas", Pireus. The area name comes from a family named Vavoulas (descendants an admiral of the Greek revolution of 1821, from Chios) that bought a huge land there to build their villa. Soon (around 1850) they started to sell parts of it. According to the most real scenario this building belonged to the family of Kiromitis and was used as a company for washing ship apparel and other ship services. Their last son that lived there  became one of the first and best musicians of bouzouki (started around 1920). His first disc at 1937 had a song with the name of the neighborhood. 1934 - today the building is used as school. Ιt  has an unusual most "western" style pediments that are decorated by authentic, very rare, Greek neoclassical ceramic pediment garlands.

Αρχείο: Μικρολίμανο, η έπαυλη Κουμουνδούρου και τρία σημαντικά κτίρια, κατεδαφισμένα δεκαετίες.

Πρόκειται για τέσσερα εξαιρετικής ομορφιάς και μεγαλοπρέπειας κτίρια του Μικρολίμανου, χαμένα πλέον εδώ και δεκαετίες, η απουσία των οποίων και η αντικατάστασή τους με νεότερα, άσχετα με την διαχρονικά παραδοσιακή εικόνα της γραφικής περιοχής, επηρεάζει καθοριστικά το σημερινό της ύφος. Το παρόν άρθρο χρειάστηκε μέρες να συνταχθεί, ώστε να είναι όσο το δυνατό πιο αξιόπιστο και κατανοητό.

Νέο Φάληρο: Ο πύργος Κούρταλη. Ενώ έχει φτάσει στα όρια υπηρεσίες ή πολίτες δεν κάνουν τίποτα. Ασχολούνται με τα φαντάσματα (τα κόκαλα των οποίων θα τρίζουν)

Ένα από τα σημαντικότερα κτίρια του Νέου Φαλήρου και του Πειραιά που τη γλίτωσε από τη Νεοελληνική λαίλαπα της κατεδάφισης μάλλον τυχαία, καταρρέει  σταδιακά, μέσα στους μύθους για φαντάσματα εξαιτίας των, όπως φημολογείται, "περιέργων" κατοίκων του και της εικόνας που αποπνέει.. Άλλο ένα κτίριο που απεικονίζει την αρχιτεκτονική μας πορεία από την εποχή της αρχιτεκτονικής τελειότητας με υποτυπώδη μέσα, στην εποχή της αρχιτεκτονικής του απόλυτου τίποτα με όλα τα μέσα! Λόγω του ότι το κτίριο βρίσκεται στα όρια της απόλυτης καταστροφής θα αναφερθώ πρώτα από όλα στην κατάσταση. Μιλάμε για ένα κτίριο, που πρέπει να έχει χτιστεί γύρω στο 1880, κρατήστε αυτό πριν διαβάσετε τα υπόλοιπα... A unique building abandoned for decades after it' s aristocratic but financially destroyed died in the 70's. Since then it unfortunately belonged to the Greek state and in 2013 it was finally sold to a rich Greek for 434.300 Euros.
